| We are looking to hire a development and communications leader this July. If you believe strongly in our mission and would like to help us grow as an organization, please consider joining our small, dedicated team.
Development: - Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective individual and institutional funders. - Manage grants portfolio, including management of grants calendar, supervision of grant writer, and oversight of VoW's contractual obligations set forth in grant agreements. - Work closely with Executive Director to develop budgets and financial reports, and to refine long-term fundraising strategies. - Manage donor administration activities, including donor database entry and updates and donor correspondence such as receipts, invitations, thank you notes, and acknowledgement in books, on VoW website, and in other materials. - Develop online fundraising strategies and annual campaigns - Coordinate major fundraising events, including annual funder luncheon Communications/External Relations: - Develop and implement PR strategies to improve organizational visibility and to promote fundraising. - Work with staff to ensure that all messaging, branding, and the public profile of VoW is consistent and directly supports our mission and goals. - Oversee VoW website and contribute content. - Manage email marketing and other communications, and oversee social media. - Write monthly newsletter and edit and/or approve all other external communications, including newsletters, program brochures, flyers, etc. Other related duties as assigned. As a small, lean organization, team members are sometimes required to take on additional responsibilities as necessary. Qualifications/Experience: ** Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. ** Minimum 4 years' development experience; must have understanding of donor cultivation cycle. Familiarity with comprehensive campaigns and planned giving preferred. ** Tech competent: experienced with Salesforce or other CRM software, WordPress, email marketing software, and social media tools. ** Excellent written skills, familiarity with Chicago and AP styles a plus. ** Prior experience working within social justice/human rights, education and/or literary organizations. ** Must possess strong work ethic, excellent time-management, and organizational skills, be detail-orientated and require minimal direction. ** Polite yet persistent, resourceful, and a sense of humor.
